סִיב - "שם כולל לקבוצת חומרים שמופיעים בצורה חוטית מתמשכת, או בדידה. הסיבים הם גופים בעלי מאפיינים אחידים מבחינה מיקרוסקופית".

 

התבוננות בסיבים היתה נקודת המוצא ליצירת "תשעים ותשע". 

הצפיה תחת עינית המקרוסקופ בסוגים שונים של סיבים והכרת המבנה הטקסטילי שלהם מעבר למה שהעין רואה חשפה בפני עולם חזותי חדש, מעניין ואחר.

 

העולם החזותי שנגלה אליי הביא אותי לכדיי ניסיון התחקות אחר מבנה הסיב.

החוט נסרג ונקשר , צמח והתפתח לייצור בעל מבנה יחודי משלו. הדימוי הסרוג שוכפל באופן רפיטטיבי תוך התערבויות ממוקדות זעירות. כל פעולות אלו הולידו את 

"תשעים ותשע" - סדרה של 99 יצורים סרוגים דומים אך שונים. הדימויים והסדרה כמכלול מתפתחים באופן הדרגתי ואורגני ובכך מדמים את תהליך ההתפתחות הטבעי של הסיב - מתא, לשרשרת חומרים ועד לסיב בעל האכויות שהוא.

Fiber – a general name for a group of materials arranged in a continuous or solitary thread  like pattern. The fibers are microscopically uniform. 

Observation under microscope was the starting point for creating “Ninety Nine”. The  observation under a microscope of several types of fibers, and the understanding of their  textile structure beyond the capabilities of the naked eye, have exposed me to a new visual  world, intriguing and very different.  

This visual world had inspired me to mimic the structure of the fiber. The thread had been  knotted and tied, it grew and developed into a creature with a unique composition. The  knotted entity was replicated repetitively, alongside minimal, focused interventions. All of  these gave rise to “Ninety – Nine” – a series of 99 knotted creatures, resembling each other  yet different. The series develops gradually and organically, thereby imitating the natural  developmental process of the fiber – from a single cell, through a filament of materials, and  eventually to a fiber with all of its qualities.
