Rubber Corses

Industrial knitting collection, inspired by: Jean Paul Gaultier.

Materials:
polyester sewing threads, rubber and transparent nylon – representing the role of corset on body, inspired by Gaultier’s perfumes.

In the project we have conceptualized the corset using a rubber thread in a relatively high density, to produce rigidity and at the same time elasticity – thereby preserving its appearance while combining flexibility and comfort. The purpose is to introduce appearance and comport to modern women, while retaining the famous stripes element of Gaultier, and to mess around a bit with rhythms and colors. Furthermore, the stretching effect of rubber upon geometrical shapes; and how can one simultaneously create variance and extremity – are being explored.
